What Do You Mean I’m Wrong?

Don't tell me I'm wrong
I’ve gotten better at speaking my mind without trying to convince anyone, just sharing what I’m thinking. It’s been a bit of a journey, and I know how tough it can be to get the hang of it.
One of my biggest values is having the most informed perspective on any important topic (e.g. parenting, ADHD, relationships). So, when someone asks me a question or gives me info that makes me rethink things and shows me how I can improve, I know I’ve got a choice.
Instead of feeling defensive and thinking, “Don’t tell me I’m wrong,” I try to see it as a chance to grow. I can say, “Wow, that really helps me understand things better. Thanks!” This change happens because I value having the most accurate, up-to-date thinking, and this person just helped me with that.
After all, it isn’t me that’s wrong. I’m just as worthy and lovable as I’ve always been. It’s the information that’s inaccurate. Like reading a book with a misprint, correct that, and the story makes more sense.
How do you handle feedback that challenges your thinking? Do you find it easy to see it as a gift, or is it something you’re still working on?

Let’s share our experiences and help each other out. Thanks for being you.
